What defines Generation Flux is a mind-set that embraces instability, that tolerates - and even enjoys - recalibrating careers, business models, and assumptions. Not everyone will join Generation Flux, but to be successful, businesses and individuals will have to work at it. Few traditional career tactics train us for an era where the most important skill is the ability to acquire new skills.

Reel Equality is a project I’ve been working on at Working Films that we recently launched. The project consists of 6 films for which we have co-developed national engagement strategies. I built a customized Facebook page for the campaign to encourage people in North Carolina to easily watch & share the trailers, make a pledge to vote NO on Amendment One on May 8th, learn about same-sex equality and organize community screenings of the films to mobilize their own towns.
It’s a timely and exciting campaign and I’m really excited to be working on it. We have already garnered the support of Equality NC and HRC as partners.

HOMOGROUND

We launched a new web design and I’ve been having fun customizing and experimenting with it. www.homoground.com. We were nominated for the 2011 People’s Choice Podcast Awards (we didn’t win). Pumping out mixtapes and podcasts. We were featured on Curve Magazine, mentioned in the Huffington Post, interviewed on Romantic Friendship… I made this page to capture these types of things. There’s still lots & lots to do. All the time. It never ends.

UNFORTUNATE UMBRELLAS

I bought a domain, unfortunateumbrellas.com. Still working on the site. Need to get it up and organized by January 2012 for my next Unfortunate Umbrella exhibit at WHQR. The first volume of the Unfortunate Umbrella book series is out & I’m working on the next one to launch in January.

WORKING FILMS

We just launched a new campaign called Reel Equality which features six films about same-sex marriage equality. Getting closer to launching another project that’s been in the works for the past few years. Knock on wood.

My room is in a constant flux of chaos, my dinner the past 2 nights has been oreos and of course, I am always ready to accept donations in the form of redbull.
